I'd be interested to hear of any software / apps that Mac users have found to help them in their work on PSR arrangers, especially related to style editing.

Thanks.

Hi

I am not a Mac user... but my Java based software programs listed at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/software.htm will run at Mac.

Not having a Mac I am not able to answer questions about actually running the programs. But I know there are a few members in this group who have some experience running in this.

There are two programs Parallels and VmwareFusion which will let you run Windows programs on a Mac.  Years ago I bought a mac pro from Apple and had Parallels installed.
The other solution is to buy a cheap windows tablet/ or laptop.  Of course you have to learn Windows commands. It takes some effort, but there are similarities in function/features etc.
There is much useful PC software on Jorgan's site.  And as Jorgan mentioned some of it can run on a mac.  Macs are built running on Linux.  But uses a Mac OSX to make it prettier and easier to use

Getting into the  nitty gritty of editing PSR styles is 'not my cup of tea'.  But you can accomplish a lot, if that is what you want to do.

I just recently bought a HP Elite X2 (refurbished 2017 PC computer) with Windows 10 on it) from Amazon for $400.  There are cheaper PC's..  if any of the PC software on Josoft looks inviting, I'd message Jorgen to see what type of PC one needs.  I'd suspect they don't need much CPU power (but check).

In a way a 2nd PC computer makes more sense, at least to me. Mac's are kind of notorious for putting small system SSD's in their computers.  so a 2nd computer set up for Window is easier to deal with.  You can create a file sharing network between Mac and PC pretty easily to move Yamaha styles, etc

Hi
All my software will run at my 11 year old Acer Aspire One having 1 GB RAM and a Atom CPU... Absolutely not running fast, but stable...
