A friend asked me to create a backing track for a country gospel song that is in 6/4 "shuffle" where a quarter note = 110bpm.

Not sure if that animal exists, but if you know or have ideas, please post or drop a PM.

TIA.
Dave

PS...the song is called "It Will Be Worth It After All" written by Denver Lamb in 1986.

There are no 6-4 styles from yamaha
They use 4-4 with triple feel
A good example is a slowrock style it  has triple feel
Try a gospel style listen if it have the triple feel It goes as --- --- --- ---

There are already shuffle styles on the arranger. Try them and play around with the tempo. Dont worry about the 6/4 notation. Shuffles are pretty much always written in 4/4 anyway, with just a note at the top saying shuffle beat. In fact this is the first time I have heard anyone refer to it as 6/4.
Shuffle is like 12/8 but with the middle note of the triplet missing. So its a long and a short beat. The music is seldom written in triplets though showing the missing note, they usually just show two 8th notes sometimes with a little diagram at the start showing the middle note is always missing.

Mike,
You're correct about shuffles generally being 4/4;  however, this one is WRITTEN in 6/4 and it has a "waltz-shuffle" feel when performed with a live/studio band.
I'm thinking of giving it an R&B feel instead of country.

Hi Dave,
Yes, I would try one of the Gospel or Worship styles found under R&B on your Genos...

I've been toying with the Southern Gospel style, but it substantially changes the song!
Sent a "draft" to my friend who wants to sing it and haven't heard back from him.
Thanks for the ideas.

I listened to this song done by The Spencers on YouTube...
Seems to me that the Southern Gospel would be the way to go.

I use the Southern Gospel on my S-950 for the Eagles "Take It To The Limit" - it seems a similar style.
Prior to having my S-950 I had a PSR 2100, and there was a style called Acoustic Ballad on it (it was on other, older keyboards as well).

I still have it in my User Files and still use it for Billy Joel's "Piano Man".
Since I don't see it on the Genos style list, here is a link to it...hope it works.

Thanks, Bruce!
At first glance/listen, the Acoustic Ballad has a lot of potential!
