Hello friends......and yes I am still alive!

I am refreshing my love affair with my PSR-3000.  It still sounds terrific!  I have many registration files I saved to a flash drive from several Tyros keyboards that are now long gone.  Is there a way to open these files on my computer and find out what the settings were related to voices, styles, tempos etc.?  I notice the file extension .rgt  is the same on both the PSR-3000 saved and copied to flash files and also the Tyros saved files.  But when I try to load to the PSR-3000 from the flash those from the Tyros it says "Data not loaded properly".  I do not mind re-entering data but, of course, have no idea how I set those up originally!

And I understand "going backwards" is rarely possible....especially to this degree.

It's probably possible to load these to the T5 and see what all the settings were as well – that might or might not be the simplest method.  In any case I have never ventured into the computer as partner aspect of my electronic keyboards and would like to see what all that offers while I am at it.

If the software option of obtaining this information is a lost cause, it would be good to know, so I do not keep spinning my wheels!

Yes you can both load T5 registrations to see what's in them and you can go backwards to PSR-3000.

Download the software from the link noted below.

Murray

Hello Janet! Good to hear from you again. You make beautiful music! I still have my 2100, and it is still a terrific keyboard. But I also have a Genos now😀

Good morning from Texas Toril........I have not concentrated on my music for sometime now.  I had to sell my Genos (regretfully).  I did love it.  I practically gave away several others because of the same reason.  $$  I am focusing on the PSR-3000 (Maggie by name) now because she is easy to handle if I want to gig.  I may have an offer to do just that soon so I need to prepare.  In any case, I am enjoying the process!  I barely scratched the surface related to the flexibility of these wonderful inventions as the years have gone by so backtracking has made me realize what I missed along the way!  Using computer software is one area into which I never delved.  Just another musical adventure, right!

Toril S

Absolutely! All arrangers from the 2000 and up are wonderful instruments, and you can make any keyboard sound good! Last year my new keyboard broke down, and I had to take out my 2100 on a couple of gigs. No one noticed! Not even when I changed floppy disks😀😀

Maybe Murray can answer this question.
I have a Genos keyboard.
I have downloaded the Playlist  for the CVP 809 to my computer.
I want to find out what style is being used for a certain registration of the playlist.
When I use Registration Manager program (5.11) and load one of the registrations from the CVP 809 playlist there is no "style" information available when I hit the summary button.
How can I find out what style is being used with this registration ?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark:

The reason is YRM 5.11 cannot process registrations from CVP809, SX900, SX700 and Genos 2.0.  This is because the header record in the registration file has been changed for the first time since the rgt file type was introduced.  You should have noted that the program was warning that the source keyboard was unknown.  YRM will only provide full information for known keyboards, those listed as Target.

I have posted a patch program to deal with the new arranger keyboards, but haven't even looked at the CVP809.

With the patch program you will be able to see the style reference.

Murray

Mr. Murray

Does this mean that the YRM program can now process Genos V2.0 registrations ?

I have not used YRM yet . . . but I understand it is a great program to process registrations in batch mode.

I have about 300 Genos registrations each with an average of 7-8 memory buttons, some have 10.

Before Genos V2.0 all my registrations and any memory button displayed the Slider Assignment B, which displays volume levels.

After I upgraded to Genos V2.0, all registrations and all buttons now display the knob assignment 1, which displays stuff that i do not use or care for.

I have a workaround or could re-save but it is close to like 3000 buttons (well a bit less . . . .)

Would it be possible to use Murray's YRM program to change all my registrations and buttons to display Slider Assignment B as they were doing before ?

Thanks in advance.

AL:

Genos 2.0 added a new section to the registration that contains the preferred selection for the Live Control View.  The reason the keyboard defaults to Knob 1 is because that section of the registration isn't there prior to Genos 2.0 so the value for the item is "0" which happens to be the setting for Knob 1.

With the 5.1 Special addition of YRM available for Genos 2.0 and SXn00 keyboards, you can edit one registration button to set your preferred view (Live Control Edit is now part of the button Edit screen rather than the Main screen), then use the Duplicator to copy it to all your other banks.  I've made provision in both the Live Control Editor and the Duplicator to deal with this item.

If you don't already have it, here's the link to the updated program:  http://bit.ly/YRMSpecial
