Hi all Genosphils !

In the Style Creator, in the SFF Edit page, we can adjust two parameters : Note Limit Low and Note Limit High.

Taking the example of a guitar with a E low note (f =82Hz) , what value have I to enter : E2 (according to the IPN standard) or E3 (or another value) ?

It may be documented somewhere in the manuals...

Thanks for your help,

Thanks seagull29 for your chart.

But the question is to know is Yamaha follow this chart or not.
Let's take the preset style NashvilleBallad1 for example. In SFF Edit for the bass, the Note Limite Low ist set to E0. According to your chart, it is E1.

My understanding is that Yamaha don't follow the IPN and so the names of the notes are shifted -1.
So, for a guitar, the low note should be E1 and for a bass guitar its should be E0.

My suggestion --

Open a Yamaha factory preset style in Style Creator. Take a look at the note limits for the instrument part. Yamaha are fairly consistent with their programming for guitar and bass.

All the best -- pj

That is exactly what I describe in my post with the preset style nashivilleBalld1.

So the conclusion is that don't follow the IPN rules and so the names of the notes are shifted -1 within the Style Creator.
