A text file is a user file just like a style file, or song file or pad file. Load the text file, then memorize your registration ensuring the Text box is checked.

1. Load everything you want your registration to load -- style, text file, voices, etc. Before you memorize, make sure the keyboard is set up the way you want it to be.
2. Press Memory.
3. Ensure the correct boxes are checked (especially Text)
4. Press the registration button you want memorized.
5. When you're done memorizing all the buttons you want, save the bank.

Also, remember that Lyrics are different from Text files. Lyrics to Yamaha keyboards come from song (midi) files. Text files you create on your own, most likely with Notepad on a PC.

Fred thank you these are all .txt files created on notepad.....I will do as you say with fingers crossed and check text box......then will see if when I change reg song the lyrics change also...to be continued..

overover

Hi Dnj,

first you should copy your .txt files to a separate Folder on you USB stick. (Do not move or rename that folder or the .txt files, later!)

Open the Text Viewer display on Genos and load one of the .txt files, so that you can see this Text.

If needed, make other Panel settings (e. g. Voices).

Press [Memory] button and be sure to have ticked all needed checkboxes, especially "Text". Press the desired Reg Memory button ( 1 - 10).

Repeat these steps for the other Reg buttons. IF the Text should NOT change later, when pressing another Reg button (2 - 10), remove the tick from "Text" checkbox in Memory dialog. You can also load a new .txt file (in Text Viewer) and memorize the to another Reg Memory button.

Finally, save the Registration Bank file.

Best regards,
Chris

Fred & Chris thank you again sooooooooooo much!!!!.....yes human error strikes again >:(
but with your gracious help I have finally been successful in linking my lyric  .txt files to each song..
I am a happy man. I Know I have done this on my previous units
but somehow forgot the process with my Genos... another step forward on setting up...

Also Donny you can have the text files on USB or on the keyboard drive.  They must remain where they are when you save the Reg though, as it merely points to the location.
