No Genos update for me, I can't log in to MusicSoft!

It is the 15. I tried to log into my account on Yamaha MusicSoft. No luck. Invalid passwordk. i KNOW it is not. So no update for me then. I am dissapointed. So good luck with the update, let me know how it goes friends

Every update was made after 10 AM (my country hour)... So, let's wait and refresh that page Jonny gives you.
No updates have come ever on YamahaMusicSoft. That site is the commercial Yamaha site (an online store) where you can purchase Yamaha's packs : Premium packs, Voices and Styles, Songs, and other content. But never keyboards updates. Keyboards updates, Owner and Reference Manuals, and other dedicated software (YEM, MusicSoft Downloader, Midi Driver, etc) you will find on Yamaha keyboard's page.

Hi Toril

Go to Yamaha UK  or type that in and the update is all there.
You do not go to Yamaha music soft .You go to the nearest Yamaha main site and then go to Keyboard instruments and then choose Genos and then downloads.

I had just one little anomaly when updating to version 2

Everything went well .
It told me obviously to switch the keyboard off which i did after update.
.just before the Genos went down i had a message to say improper shutown and user files are lost.

Up to now no user files of mine are lost.
Just wondering what that means .
I shut down with the update file on usb still in so i am puzzled by that message.
Update Genos 2 seems to be going great guns up to now!!!

Hi John,

I had the same error message.
I think it is related to the warning on the update page about the MIDI Setup File and User Effect Setup file.

Don't forget to download the new YEM, the GENOS V2.0 SUPERIOR PACK and the manuals.

All went well installing the GENOS V2.0 SUPERIOR PACK, but the first time you have to Save As "Pack Installation File.cpi". Do not use the Save As "Pack Quick Installation File" which can be used afterwards to add packs without formatting.

and scroll down to the page Other Downloads to download the GENOS V2.0 SUPERIOR PACK .... and all other nice packs if you haven't done so yet.

and of course you also need to download and install the updated Yamaha Expansion Manager to create the Superior Pack.

Toril,

Unless you saved the Setup file and restored it after the update, your will probably have lost some settings, like your Name, the Time and other stuff.

Just check the page  MENU - Utility - System
And maybe some assignables if you had them configured before...

Just before the Genos went down i had a message to say improper shutown and user files are lost.

This is a very major update. Yamaha's engineers changed many internal data structures and file formats that are hidden from view.

The installer initializes System Set-up, MIDI Set-up and User Effects. Yamaha warn about initialization (in red text) on the V2.0 download page. They also have recommendations about what and how to save.

Genos checks the internal consistency (validity) of internal set-up data. When it finds the newly initialized settings, Genos complains.
