First time I went to the music store to try the sx900, I was not so Impressed, I may have posted here that the sound was dull and dry, now I can tell you that all this can be changed very quickly.

If your going to visit your music store to test the Sx900
Or even if you have purchased one and the sound is not exciting, try this.
Or maybe you are a player that does not do any digging-in or editing.

This is a quick way to shape the sound on the R1-R2-R3 only, until your happy with the sound.

There are 2 control knobs on the facia within finger touch.
Out of the box I think the default is 1-Filter, 2-Reverb

Run a style, play the voice and adjust the Knob 1 & Knob 2 till your happy.
This will give a very nice sweet sound, you can now save to a Registration or OTS
Try another variation, adjust to your taste, save to registration or OTS
Same on V3 & V4
Now save the registration as a song name or save the style, quick and easy

This "Real Reverb" makes the trumpets, saxophone etc. sound very impressive.

Nice idea thanks - handy when setting regis up I suppose.

I kept reverb 'as is' and am using the other for balance, ideal for on the fly adjustment .

I am a huge fan of reverb, I probably overuse it, but it makes a real difference. When I select a panel voice I almost always dial up the reverb straight away.

(Obv I store favourites in registrations, but I'm not going to create a user voice / registration for every possibility :) )

Hello, I'm glad you have the sx900, I will continue with the s970 while I arrive at the sx900, but I have a concern regarding the buttons, the line s900, s910, s950, s970 and s975 all the buttons are rubber and not so PSR- 3000, PSR-2100, I want to know if the SX900, the buttons are made of rubber or paste? I think they are pasta, I want to believe it.
The buttons of the s670 line are made of paste and that is a relief, I remain attentive to your response and again congratulate you on your SX900.

Really not sure - they do feel soft and rubberised to me and not solid, like Tyros are  - although, sorry i dont know what is meant by 'paste'

Pino

As Blackpool says no problems with the buttons, works great, they seem to be rubberised.
I prefer them to the noisy buttons on the Tyros & Genos

Biggest problem I have is the black glossy facia,
I've been using a 'Raser' LED light over the panel for the past 5 years

The reflection of the light in the black gloss facia is too much.
Now I will look for another light, Matt black facia would have been better.

The buttons work perfect what ever they are made of.

I agree I never liked the shinny look of the SX since I first saw it...and wish it had a tilt up display also imo.

Pino

Eileen, - what light do you use over the keyboard facia when your in your home studio or out gigging?
The high gloss black facia is not working so good with my keyboard lite, wish it was Matt black.

Dnj - no problem with the screen, I know you've tried many keyboards but for a PSR the screen is excellent, hope you'll get your soon, it a big step up from the past PSRs,
Good value for money
Good for gigging
Good all-round keyboard.

That's good news on the display...how do you liek the drums and fills?

Hi Pino,
I don't use a light over my keyboard as I use an Ipad for my music and that gives me all the light I Need.
