Touch screen - Brilliant 😀😀😃

Keybed - Brilliant 😀😀😀

Memory - Brilliant 😀😀😀

Brings the PSR right up to date,  Jam packed with goodies.
It's a totally new ball game for a PSR keyboard

Top view, Compact facia, just 36 cms (14") from top of the speaker to the tip of the keys.

Loads if new sounds/styles, passable violins, loads of new strings, scats etc etc etc.

Out of the box, dull and dry and that's the way it should be, it's not up to YAMAHA to put the colour in, it's up to the individual player, there's  plenty of quick tweaking at every corner, makes it sound real good, real quick.

I really like this new PSR

It's a definite winner

Congrats on your new keyboard. Look forward to hearing more.

Seems like a great addition to the stable. One of the interesting things I saw was the ability to create chord loops. No other keyboard has that as far as I know. I can do that with the Genos and my Midi Maker software but having it available in the keyboard is a good idea.

We get chord looper on the Genos when 2.0 is released.

Richard, your a good player, I think you would use it.
It's a good feature for those players good enough to handle it
I see many members here exited over it
I dont think it's something that I would use in a live gig situation
But
It's Good that it's there.
There's lots of other goodies in the Menu 1/2

With the older PSR's we could go from model to model without any problems, they were almost identical, on this sx900 I've been scratching my head on a few occasions,
I even had to crank up the "pdf user manual" 3 times, something I've never opened before,

It's a totally new operating system and it's looking good,
Be prepare for a little 'learning curve" 🤔

It's about time!

Sounds like it is very similar to the Genos OS.  But I'm sure there are some differences just as there are with the previous PSRs OS and the Tyros OS.

It seems they have taken the chord looper to a higher level, although it was first introduced by Roland about ten years ago, and the past few models by Korg have it also.
The big improvement is the ability to store eight loops in a bank.

Glad you like it Pino- I think we will be 'The start of the many'

If I had ANY single tiny, negative, I would have liked a third foot control socket, but for the price it is GREAT value and offers super functionality - you can never have everything.

Well done Yamaha !!

My first wish is that Yamaha would have put instrument icons
in the R1-R2-R3, instead of the fuzzy photos.

But it's a good all round keyboard and I'm having fun with it.
So far 😀

Yes, your right
It's not a big screen, same size as the S975
And sometime when your gigging with maybe down lighting
You just can't  See what playing
It's a small niggle
I think I've covered everything on this keyboard apart from the WiFi
And it's all good, there is a 'learning curve'

I'm sure there will be YouTube tutorial videos out soon

Hi SX900 Happy Owners :

Would one of you be so kind to upload here all the preset SX900 Multipads, plse ?

Thank you very much !

konaboy

+1 on the legibility of the display, PSR-S9xxx was much better.
Home screen now has a lot of wasted space and useless icons.  The chord notation display is particularly small now. Bump up the font size a notch, and give us better contrasting colors please!

Dnj

maybe the legibility issue can be resolved in future Os updates?
