Hi Warren,

with Murray Best's "Yamaha Registration Manager" (Windows program) you can do this. You could download the documentation file (PDF) from this page, first:

https://psrtutorial.com/util/best.html

There is a "Single Mode" and a "Batch Mode" for converting Music Finder entries ("Records") to Registrations. Please refer to pages 47 - 54 of the documentation.

Best regards,
Chris

QuoteTo access batch processing, click the button "Batch Process MF file" at the bottom of the Music Finder to Registrations screen.

On my MFD to REG screen, there is no "batch processing" link.
Also, nothing appears below the row of 1-8 radio buttons.

I just d/l'd and installed v5.1

Hi Tresclub,

please try the following:

- Open the Yamaha Registration Manager (YRM) program. The Version No. should be shown as 5.1.1.

- Click on the yellow "Change" button, select your keyboard model in the dropdown list and click on the yellow button, now labelled "Select".

- Only at the first time, you have to click on "Edit My Registration Settings", now. You can leave all Settings at default or e. g. make different Split Point or Pedal Settings. Then click SAVE button.

- Do NOT load any Registration bank, at this time.

- Click on "Music Finder to Registration" button, search and select the desired MFD file and click "Open" button in this window "Music Finder Database".

- In the next window (titled "Music Finder to Registrations") only click on the blue "Batch Process MF File" button.

From now on, you can do different things (refer to the documentation), the following is only an example:

- In the next window select one or more Song titles in the list (by normal clicking, "control-clicking" oder "shift-clicking").

- Click on "One Song per Bank" and check the box "Use OTS Voices".

- For Button 1 leave the default setting "MF Setting".

- For Buttons 2 - 5 select Main A - D.

- Buttons 6 - 8 can leaved "Empty".

- Click on "Run Batch" button, select a folder or make a new folder, where the finished Reg files are to be stored. If you only click OK, the Reg files will be stored in the same folder where the MF file is located.

- Wait a short time and click "Exit" then. If you don't want to do anything else, click "Exit" once more, to close YRM program.

- The Reg files (.rgt) should have been created in the particular folder. :)

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Warren,

I don't know what is the reason for your problem, for now.

First, I thought it could be the relatively long file path to your MFD file. But I made several subfolders and copy a MFD file on a similar place on my PC as you did, but it still WORKS for me.

Til today, I had installed the Version 5.11 of YRM from the German site "styles-24.de". There the setup file is "YRMsetup511.msi":

https://styles-24.de/epages/ff46e5fa-0caf-4a2e-ae78-efc83c5c1922.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/ff46e5fa-0caf-4a2e-ae78-efc83c5c1922/Categories/%22Free%20-%20Download%22#YRM

Download link: http://bit.ly/YRM511S24

Today, I noticed that on the YRM download site on Psrtutorial (I linked in reply #1) the setup file is named "YRMsetup511A.msi". So, I deinstalled the program "RegManager5" via the Windows10 Control Panel and installed the "A" version then.

But I can not notice any difference between these two versions / install files: The Batch conversion of "MF files to Reg banks" still WORKS as before.

Maybe your Windows system is the problem here (a missing DLL or missing "framework" files).

Which Windows version do you use? Are you still using Windows XP? In this case, the "dotNet 4.0 Framework" could be missing on your machine. The relevant installer for "dotNet 4.0" can be downloaded from microsoft.com.

In your screenshot not only the blue button "Batch Process MF file" is missing but also the button "Change MF File" on the top right side of the window (see MY screenshot).

If the problem persists, I recommend to contact Murray Best via email and give him detailed information about your Windows system:

Hi Tresclub

Chris is correct that the two buttons should be present as their showing is the last step on the load of that screen.

Send me your MF file so that I can see if there's something in it that's causing the program not to complete it's final steps.

Hi Murray,

are there any differences between the two YRM 5.11 setup files I mentioned before?

"YRMsetup511A.msi", link on Psrtutorial YRM site

"YRMsetup511.msi", link on styles-24.de

The install files are identical, the only difference is the name to track the number of downloads from this site and Styles-24.

There is nothing fancy about the installer,  it just un-packs the condensed file, puts it in the right directory and creates the shortcut.

As I mentioned before, send me your MFD, and I'll see what's causing the problem.

Where do you want me to sends it?  Email addrfess?

Got it, MFD on the way.

Follow up on this thread.

The problem was the MFD contained about 9,000 blank characters after the FPed file end.

YRM never expected that there would be blank characters after the MFD file end message and didn't have code to recover from this exceptional situation.
