I have MusicScore 3.   I frequently download song files there and export to.pdf.  Most of the time I can transpose the song and then export.  Sometimes  the transpose
selection tab is greyed out and there is no transpose option.   I have attached a song file from MuseScore that has this problem.  Bob

That's a pdf file. We'd need the Musecsore file to load in to see if we can transpose it.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Just what I was typing. This is a pdf file.

Andy:   Here   is a MuseScore   copy.    This  is weird.    I went back into the program and this time the transpose function worked properly.  Attached file.   Thank you.  Bob

I use MuseScore3 also and have not seen this happen before, Bob.  You may be running a corrupted installation of MuseScore3, so I would recommend that you update the program with a new installation.  And as both Andy and Dick said, please upload the mscz file if you would like for us to evaluate the file.  :)

Edit:  We were both posting at the same time, Bob!

I just downloaded your mscz file, Bob, and transposed the song from the original key of C to the key of F.  :)

I did the same to D and it worked as fine as ever. Problem solved I suppose.

Thank you Roger and Dick.    If it happens again I will reinstall the program.  Bob

I thought of something you may want to check, if this should happen again, Bob.

If you are in the process of editing a file, such as modifying text or any other edit function, and you click on transpose prior to completing and exiting the edit function, "Transpose" will be grayed out.  You must complete and exit any function of MuseScore prior to attempting to use another function.

I hope this helps you.  :)

Sometimes this happens to me too.
I select the whole score with Ctrl-A and then it works!
