Hi Everyone , I'm having a problem transferring my own recordings of songs I made when I had a Tyros 2 a few years ago which are now stored on my laptop to my Tyros 5 I have now ??? . When I use a USB to transfer the files to my Tyros 5 from my laptop the keyboard shows in the song section the folder with the songs which are in WAV format by the way but when I open the folder on the keyboard there is no song files in the folder ??? But when I put the usb back to the laptop it shows the files are there and actually plays them if clicked ??? , Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I'm doing wrong or otherwise please ???? All help received with thanks , Regards Terry .

Hi --

Yamaha keyboards are quite picky and specific about the WAV file specifics. Please check the Tyros 5 manuals. However, Yamaha usually requires 16 bit 44.1kHz STEREO. Mono won't do. I still get bitten by this specification.

Other folks have had issues with extremely long file names, etc.

Hope this helps -- pj

To show your audiofiles on the T5 you must first press the Mode button under the audio recorder section, then the A button, and your audio files will show😀 The song section is for MIDI files, and here you can see your folder, but not the files due to the masking system on Yamaha keyboards. Hope this helps😀

If I remember correctly there was a problem with these audio files and I lost a lot because I had not saved them as WAV files from the keyboard at the time. Something to do with the file was not complete until saved the correct way. I remember getting in touch with Yamaha about this. I then let folks know that they needed to use this procedure.
