Using  Music Finder is it possible to change the preset voices?

Hi Jimbo,

A music finder record basically holds details of a style and where to find it, and which Intro followed by which Main Variation of the style to activate when it loads the style.

The style can be a preset or a user file stored in User or on a USB stick for example.

Because the MF turns the OTS Link button on, the voices that are loaded when you select a MF record are those in the relevant OTS (One touch Settings) of the style.  So if the MF record is set to load the style and activate Main Variation A for example, the panel part voices (R1, R2, etc. & Left) loaded will be whatever is in OTS1 for that style.

If you want a MF to load the style with different voices, then you need to change them in the style OTS and save a copy of it as a User style. You must then make sure that the MF record contains the location/name details of the modified style, assuming you haven't simply started from an existing User style and overwritten it with the modified version, in which case the MF record should already point correctly to it.

It is not as difficult as it may sound above!   However instead of the MF, I prefer to use Registrations since they can hold many more settings/parameters in each one than a MF record.

You haven't said which keyboard you have, although I see that you referred to a PSR-S975 in a previous post.   In which case you can read how to change the OTS of styles  in the section 'Memorizing Original Settings to One Touch Setting' starting on page 29 of the 'PSR-S975 Reference Manual'.  This is not the same as the 'Owner's Manual' (which you should have received with the keyboard).  But you can download it as a PDF file if you have not already done so, from the 'Manuals' part of the page at this link...
