What version of Cubase has the Tyros 4 sound table ? Or maybe some other DAW?

SeaGtGruff

Any version or edition of Cubase should do. If the one you have, or that you get, doesn't already have a patch list provided for the Tyros4, you should be able to either download one from Yamaha's site or grab one that someone else created.

I recommend the PC programs "Midifile Optimizer X" (by German company "Midiland"), "PSRUTI" by Heiko Plate and "MixMaster" by Michael Bedesem, to work with MIDI files.

To bring the Tyros4 Preset Voice table into Cubase, one can convert the existing Cakewalk/Sonar Instrument Definition file (.ins) into a Cubase Patchname Script file.

On this website you can find the converter program and also a converted file (.txt) for Tyros4, ready to use in Cubase:

I have Midifile Optimizer 8 but I care about a good sequencer. Thank you for your answers in the topic ;)

Hi muzior,

thanks for your feedback!

P.S.
If not already done so, you can set "[Function] - Utility - Config 2 - Display Voice Number" to "ON", to show the Voice Numbers in the Voice Selection display (#MSB-LSB-PRG).

Important: PRG is the YAMAHA Program number (as listed in the Tyros Data List). To get the MIDI Program Change number (to use witch Sequencer programs), you have to subtract the number 1:

Yamaha PRG number 1 = MIDI Program Change 0
Yamaha PRG number 2 = MIDI Program Change 1
...

Best regards,
Chris

Is there already a Tyros 4 patch for XGworks?

muzior

Hi, I repeat the question, is there a patch for Tyros 4 to XGworks? Someone will help?

SeaGtGruff

I don't know, but I think there are a lot of people who still use XGworks, so it's possible that someone has a definition file for the Tyros4. Or, if you can find one for an earlier model of Tyros, I imagine it could be edited for the Tyros4.

muzior

I have a patch for Tyros 3. Unfortunately, I don't know how to edit it :(

SeaGtGruff

Can you post a link to where you got the patch list from? I'd like to see what the file looks like.

Hello Muzior,

Here's a definition file for the Tyros 4 in Cubase. It also contains the definitions for quite a few expansion packs.
I hope this is what you were asking for.

Peter

Thank you but I need a T4 patch for XGworks.

XeeniX

Muzior my bad,

Probably misread and was mislead by the topic of your post. Sorry, I can't help you with XGWorks. I never used it.

Peter
