Auto Power Saving and Auto Power Off

I have tried several times to activate the Auto power Saving and Auto Power Off functions. I set the Auto power Saving to 5 minutes and the Auto Power Off to 30 minutes as per the instructions in the manual, but these settings never seem to work.

Has anyone else come across this problem? I think I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

For me there is a kind of mismatch in the menu, because the power saving gives always a shutdown, even if I didn't allowed a power off.

Thanks for your comments pfeuh.

I can't get either function to operate at all though.

Sorry, my English is perhaps not good enough. I said that the 2 options of the menu, power saving and power off have the same effect on my genos, a shut down of the power after the programmed delay.

Hi pfeuh,

Thanks for your reply

I think your English is very good and is much better than my French which I learned at school.  I did understand your reply.

But in my case Auto Power Saving does not work and also Auto Power Off does not work.

It's not a major problem but I think it does need sorting out.

The last update to 1.30 put this problem right and now works as it should do. Personally I prefer not to use it as I like to be in control of when my keyboard switches off.

Hello Eileen,

I am on version 1.30 so I don't know why it won't work.

I am like you in that I prefer to be in control of when my keyboard switches off.

But it still needs to be sorted. Don't know if it's possible to re-apply the update but if so it may be worth a try.

Quick update on this problem.

I have downloaded the update again and applied it to the Genos. But the functions still don't work.

Puzzling!!!!

Hi Trevor,

If you search the forum with "auto power', you will find quite a few threads already discussed this.

The Auto Power Off feature is required by EU law.  This features never worked on my Genos even at firmware revision 1.30.

I prefer Auto Power Off to be turned off.  I prefer shutting down Genos myself.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply. The Auto Power Off doesn't work on my Genos either even though it has been updated to 1.30. Seems as though that is the way things are. Yamaha must be aware of this. Maybe if there is an update forthcoming they will include a fix for this.

Like you, I would rather shut down Genos myself.

Kind regards
