Hello friends!
On my PSRs there is a user button both in the styl control section and in the voice section. But on T5 I can't find it in the style section. This means that I have to just press any style button to get the keyboard in style mode, and than tab to user section on the screen. This is a roundabout way to do it. Wnat am I missing here? Where the user button is on my PSRs there is a file access button, I am a little confused. On the voice panel there is the user button just as on the PSRs. But what about styles?

On the PSR you have Expansion/User. This is because your pack style access is through user section of keyboard. On Tyros this is different so you press style button and then select where you have your style
User, USB or Hard Drive.

Thanks, Eileen! That is what I do. So Tyros doesn't have this button on style section? Just have to live with that then :)
My PSR-975 also has a dedicated song button that is handy. On PSR 2100 and Tyros I have to use the screen. They are all a little different, keeps me on my toes :)

Hi Toril,

You can use the 'File Access' button to open the style selection screen at a specific folder and drive of your choice.

This includes the User, HD1 and USB drives (assuming one is connected).

To set this up you should open the Style selection screen and switch to 'List View' (upper 7 button).

Now navigate to the drive/folder that you want to use and press 'Memory' (button E).

You will see a message asking you to select one of the style category buttons to associate with this folder (e.g. Country).

Once you have done this, you can access that folder in future simply by pressing 'File Access' and the relevant style category button.

You can repeat the process with all the other style category buttons if you like, meaning that you can set up a maximum of 11 'shortcuts', as long as you can remember which folder each button opens!

When the 'File Access' is not lit, the style category buttons act as normal and open the preset styles.

Although you need to be in 'List View' to setup the shortcuts, once you have done this you can switch back to the 'normal' view if you prefer.  The shortcuts will open the selection screen in whatever view you were in when you last closed it.

Once memorised the shortcuts will remain in place until you reassign them or carry out a system reset.

There is a similar function for MIDI Songs using the four song buttons (I-VI) in the player controls.

There is information about this function in the section 'Memorizing Song/Style paths', on page 28 of the Tyros5 Owner's Manual.

Regards

Ian
