Hi

I've been trying to find an answer to this issue but can't find one and wonder if anyone can help please?

I am trying to change the Volumes and Voices of some tracks on a recorded Song.
I can do this using external sequencing software, but can't achieve it on the T4.
Is it possible on the T4?

I've tried different combinations of operations using the Mixing Console and Song Creator, but when I Execute and Save the new version it doesn't save with the changes. When I reload it, it still has the same settings as before I made the changes.

Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Chris

There are two Methods,
After making the changes on Mixing Console.

Head over to Song Creator.
I'm not sure about the name of the page.
But Apply is on the bottom right corner. ( I'm sure someone here will know)

The other method is.
Going over to Step Edit and Changing the Volume for each channel
CC 7

Hit Save

Hi Norman

Thanks for your reply, but as far as I'm aware the T4 doesn't have an Apply button.
It has Execute and Save, which doesn't seem to Save the changes.

I can't see where the T4 lets you change the Volume for a channel.

Hi Chris
Make the volume changes in the mixer. Then go to song creator, tab to channel tab, press execute and then save. Your midi should now contain the changes.

Hi Ed

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what I'm doing. I've tried it on a few songs and getting the same problem.

Here's the exact sequence I go through .....

Main Screen - Button A - select Song1
Press STOP to make sure at start of Song
Mixing Console - Song CH 1-8
Reduce volume of Track 1 from 100 down to 0
Digital Recording - Song Creator
TAB to Channel
Execute - Save
Save As Song2
Exit back to Main Screen
Select another (random) Song using Button A
Then Select Song2
Mixing Console - Song CH 1-8
The volume of Track 1 is back to 100 (not 0)

Any further help ???
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
The only reasons I know of where changes may not save are
- where execute has not been carried out first. Are all the relevant ticks in place when you click Setup?

- each channel that you want to save must have at least 1 note in it. Empty channels are ignored for saving.
If you really are editing recorded channels it is unlikely they are empty, but I just added this for completeness.

Ps. Another thought in desperation. Have you tried setting volume to 1 rather than 0?

Hi Chris,
I think that before pressing the execute button you should be at Channel tab
and choose 5 "SET UP" with everything "ticked".

I don't know if this video helps.Just done it on my psr s750.
I reduced channel's 4 volume(a flute is playing the melody line) to zero:

(Increase the volume of the video if you wish,I am sorry is way too low  :-\ )

Thanks for the replies everyone

panos - you've solved it - I need to scroll down to SET UP before EXECUTE and SAVE

Problem solved
Thanks again
Chris  :)
