Not that it matters but how much was a new psr3000 when new?

I think they came to the market in 2004 and my recollection was about $1500 in the USA before sales tax.

I purchased the PSR 2100 in 2004, the model before the 3000. I had to pay 14000 NOK, that is about 1635 dollar. Some time after I got it, I met an entertainer that had the 3000, with better styles, and, best of all, USB capability! But I still have my beloved 2100, and it came to good use again when my S970 died suddently of an amp attack. Please give your 3000 a pat on the panel from me :)

I paid $1595 USD plus sales tax new (unopened in a box) for my PSR-3000 from the local Guitar Center outlet in December of 2006.

Mine was $1,595 US from a local dealer. One of the best keyboards I ever owned - a real workhorse!.

It was my first arranger, and I remember being amazed at what it could do.

I thank you all for the info.  I was curious as to how much the overall price for top of the line psr has increased since the 3000.  Seeing as the 975 is now available everywhere for 1995  its only 300 more in 12 years.  I'm still planning on using best buy in the world Gary, until the next upgrade comes out.  Still working on learning how to use the OP on the 3000 hoping that there won't be much of a learning curve on the next upgrade.  Drake indicated that he made a decision early on to create indv song styles instead of using registrations making it easier to migrate to a newer model.  I'm planning on doing the same.

And yes, once again, thank you Gary,  Your old trusty 3000 is now my trusty 3000. Truth is, I'm realizing that the ability to use usb sticks is the 3000's biggest upgrade feature.  BUT I must say that that is the biggest better feature.  I'm also sure that the more time I spend with the KB the more locked into its OP and it will be much harder to justify moving up to anything else.
