I have now created registrations to 4 tunes and adjusted them to pretty much do what I want them to do.  Still haven't figures out how to change OTS within the reg but that I'm sure will come later.  Also not sure how to start a new bank of registrations without deleting the bank I just created but again, I'll approach that problem when I get there!

Earl,

When you use registrations, forget about OTS. Just store everything in your registrations.

When I create a new registration bank for a song, I do the following:
1. I take any old bank (like the one currently loaded), and save it under the new name. Doing this first avoids the problem of saving over (and losing) old banks.
2. I memorize the desired registrations, then save the bank.

I don't bother deleting old registrations, because I know I'm either going to memorize over them, or not use them. I know others delete unused registrations for the sake of neatness, but I'm too lazy to bother.

Hope this helps,
Fred

Deleting the old registrations does have the advantage that when the new bank is loaded, only the registration buttons that have been used light up.

Easiest way is to make yourself a Blank Bank and Name it. Then when you complete a registration you want to keep just name it and save it. Now just load in the bank named blank and you are ready to start again.
When you complete this one then Name and save it so you don't over right the blank one.

Or, if you have created a setup you really like:

+ select the blank registration bank (just selecting the bank does *not* select one of the 8 slots, so your setup will not change)
+ memorise your setup into one of the slots (this does *not* overwrite the blank bank yet)
+ save the bank with a new name

Earl, you cannot change the OTS in a registration. The OTS is part of the style file and can only changed by saving the original style file with a new name and creating a User Style File.

Hi
Just a slight correction to Gary's comment. As he states OTS is part of the style but you can save the style set up with a different OTS setting so that when you change the style registration button you change the OTS setting as well. This can be right 1 or 2 in your case as well.

Ed, this is not a permanent change to the OTS - only within that registration. If the style file is selected by itself, the OTS will revert to the default OTS settings.

Hi Gary
I agree! What I was trying to point out was that the OTS can be changed and recorded using a registration without permanently changing the style. So for Earl to make an OTS change using a registration, the change to OTS is made manually first in the style and then that configuration saved in the registration.
