Just wanted to compliment Bose on this speaker. I bought a pair and I can't say enough good things about them. Expensive, but worth every penny. I have a pair of the Compacts, but in some situations theses are better. Thanks, Ron

I have a pair as well.  I'm very impressed.  They make a great match with my Genos.

For me, the goal is to keep growing/learning.

I also have a pair and I agree. They are richer sounding than my compacts.

Your right Mel, enjoy, Ron

Very good speakers, I love it,

Toril S

I tested them today. They sound clear, but the compacts have more punch, in my opinion. I am not going to change my compact for these. But it is a neat package, lightweight and all. Improved in many ways, I am sure. But the compact has advantages that I like: There is the fact that by using the tower on the compact, I get some distance between the bass unit and the mid/treble speakers, and that gives a better effect. But that is my subjective opinion only.

I agree with Toril

I tested these and they sound good in a small room but they have their limits.

Patrick

I agree with Toril too! I've tested one SP1 and the sound is great but my Compacts are better! All the best Patrick

They are meant for small rooms but don't forget you have treble and bass controls and If you buy just one you can use your compact on one side and s1 pro on the other and get stereo you will not believe the deference. I use 2 in stereo and they are awesome. remember. the compact has the speaker tower at ear level and the woofer on the ground so it my sound clearer to you but if you go out into the room you are playing in and listen they will sound very similar. Just my experience anyway.

Good idea to use one for stereo.

I plan to purchase one , but found out it does not have phantom power for phantom microphone which I have been using. Hopefully they will add it in future hardware upgrade for S1 Pro.

Toril S

No phantom power. But you could connect a mixer with phantom power.
