Not happy with the violin voice,
needs delay in the vibrato or some tweaking,
What's the easiest way to change it?

Go to YEM to edit the voice, never used it.

Can I get a new sample,
where can I get a new sample from?
How easy to load into the S975,?

Any other options?

Would be very grateful for any info,

Pino

Hi Pino --

Unfortunately, YEM cannot edit an existing (preset) voice in the S975. YEM can edit only Genos or Tyros 5 preset voices.

On the S975, you would need to create a new custom voice. As you mentioned, you would need samples for violin. You might be able to find WAV/AIFF samples on the Web, or perhaps a Soundfont.

It takes a fair bit of effort to create a good custom voice from scratch. A few of the expansion packs have alternative violin sounds (e.g., "Church and Christmas").

Hope this helps, even a little -- pj

You can use voice set to set vibrato effects but as the violin already has them in built you are better choosing an XG voice which is flat and then edit it to your liking then save as a user voice.

Thank you pj and Eileen for your replies

For the past 2 years or so I Midi'd to my Ketron SD-40,
it has some really nice sound especially violins, cellos etc.

From the next year I intend to lighten my load and just use the S975

Looks like I'm going to have to spend some time to study the options available.

2018,  I successfully managed to make styles from midi files.
2019,  will be about making new sounds/voices

And the beat goes on

Hi Pino,
You can try one of these even are traditional:

Look for violin upload, and is very easy to import UVN on small custom pack
