Hi Everyone, my favorite source of information and help.

I want to save "Favorites" from other MFD's, such as the ones Joe has sent out. However, when I switch MFD's, the message comes up that I will lose the MFD that I was working with. Is there a way to save favorites from several MFD's in one place? I spend time going through to find the ones I like and I want to keep them.

Thank-you for any help you can give me,
George

No. An MFD file stands on its own. There's no way to reference records in more than one MFD file.

Your best bet is to create a favorite MFD file on your own. Just copy the records you like into a new MFD file, and use it as your favorite.

Thank-you Fred, you are always helpful.

So I would find a file I like and copy and paste that into something like "My MFD Favs" on my USB? I think I understand.

I would do it on a pc using one of the many utilities available, like musicfindeeview available here http://www.psrtutorial.com/MB/bedesem.html

Yeah, I've glanced at that program and a few others that look very useful. However, I'm a Mac man so am left out in the cold. My wife, who is a quilting maniac, has a Dell. I have contemplated approaching her about putting the music software on her computer but have not brought it up. I'm sure she would go along with it but I'm not sure how accessible it would be to me. She uses her computer all the time in many ways.

Thanks for trying to help me.

If you posted your MFDs here, with the appropriate records favorited, you'd likely find someone willing to help you out. It certainly wouldn't take anyone very long.

When it comes to the MFD, you have two options. You can either replace the existing file, or amend it, which would retain your favorites. It's up to you.

Jorgen has software (yes for a pc) you can merge various MFD's to a certain extend, depending on keyboard. Than you can delete the entrees you don't want save it as new MFD and replace it with the one in your keyboard.
