Hi all,

Is there no other program that can do batch conversions for voices from newer to older arrangers like Midiplayer used to do?

MixMaster allows you to do this manually by searching for compatible voices per style, but this is EXTREMELY tedous. I want to batch change Tyros 5 voices to PSR S770 format.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Henni

Michael/someone help please! Is there an updated *.dat file available anywhere that will accept T5 voices on the S770 using MixMaster? If so, someone please share with me.

I'm not certain, but I think the PSRUTI program might be able to revoice MIDI files using default mappings-- that is, where you have pre-specified that a particular voice (or MSB/LSB/Pgm combination) which is not available on your keyboard is to be replaced by some other particular voice which is available:

I don't know if PSRUTI can automatically process a collection of MIDI files in batch mode.

Hi Henni,

for MIDI files (NOT for STYLES) you can use the commercial software program "Midifile Optimizer X":

https://www.midiland.de/en/midifiles_frameset.htm

(There is also a free DEMO version, but saving is deactivated here.)

An existing MIDI file will be updated automatically (Sy*** and Voices) for using with the target keyboard (you set before). You just have to SAVE the file again.

This is also possible in Batch-Mode (for multiple files at once).

Using "Optimizer X" witch STYLES should be able, if you use "Style Split & Splice" program first.

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Chris, isn't that what (free) PSRUTI does as well? I use it all the time, optimizing midi's made on other model keyboards or other brands and studio gear. It takes out all the commands a Yammie keyboard doesn't need or places what it does need, optimizes voices AND in a batch mode.
Maybe Henni can use it as well.

Hi Dick,

yes, PSRUTI is also a very good software program to optimize MIDI files. :)

I use (amongst other programs) PSRUTI, Optimizer X and MixMaster with MIDI files.

Each of these programs has its advantages and also its disadvantages. In Optimizer X, for example, you can set a target keyboard model. PSRUTI works NOT especially for a particular model (and does NOT change Voices automatically, if needed).

Very good in Optimizer X is also that you can hear the made changes immediately.
