Headphone problem and embarrassing solution

When my wife is home, I wear my headphones while practicing, which was the case recently when I had a most unsatisfactory session. My S975 instrument voices were sounding weird, but I completed my rehearsal despite it.

THEN...as I was shutting down my system I realized that I had not plugged the headphones into the keyboard! I was hearing the external speakers through my muffling headphones!

I used to say it is not easy being human. Now I am realizing it is even harder being an aging human!  :-[

I've done that.

Sometimes when I can't sleep, I'll go play the keyboard through headphones. Except for the time I forgot to plug them in. My wife was not happy when she had to come in at 3 in the morning to tell me to plug them in!

All part of the aging process.

Cheers,
Fred

Doing this with a keyboard? OK, but you should try harder! If you really want to do this, try doing some late night (like 23.30!) practice on an organ that has 240 watts RMS of power under your right foot and play something loud like Bach's Toccata in D minor. It's amazing how fast your other half flies down the stairs and asks what the *%!& you think you're doing - and the black looks your next door neighbour gives you until you apologise and explain!  ;D
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
