Hi folks,,
hoping that someone can help me with this one.

I've recently joined a band as lead vocalist also contributing some electro-acoustic guitar rhythm and on some songs keyboard sounds using my Yamaha PSR S970.
The band include a drummer, bass player, 1 lead / rhythm guitarist, & me.
I don't want to play the styles.

I am looking for a method of saving eg 4 different sounds for each song so that I can easily switch while playing & singing.
If I use OTS then the style starts & conflicts with the drummer, don't want that, I'm mainly playing with my right hand - some individual notes, some held chords, some "stabs".

We are covering a variety of songs so I' looking to use a variety of voices eg reaggae organ, piano, brass, guitar, perhaps combining them.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Best wishes,

Mike [Taffinator] [Well done Geraint Thomas!]

Yep I have jammed the way you want to play.

Simply slide the STYLE volume to ZERO, that will kill the sound you don't want.

Then set up a REGISTRATION file and add to it your favorite EIGHT instrument voices you want. Keep in mind you can set up as many of these as you need. You could even set them up and name them for use with a particular song.  ;)

Thanks Drake,

you're always quick to offer a sensible solution or two.

Much appreciated,

Mike

Hi Mike,
For s970, you can use one of the two knobs to turn the style volume to zero.

Here is a style with 4 Mains with no sound but I would suggested as Drake said to use registrations for changing easilly voices because if you are using a style the start/stop button is flashing with the 5 bpm tempo and this maybe annoying.
Just remember to uncheck the style when you save the registration.
So you can have registrations with voices only without styles.

The easiest way to store voices is with registrations. You can store 8 sets in each bank. Just make sure the other groups are unchecked when you nemorize each reg.
