How to get portomento effect on string voice

Hope someone has an idea on this. Hello dear all. I have been trying to get this portomento effect to work on those string voices on my 670, it's working on wood instruments though but not on string voices. Any suggestion is well appreciate. Am I doing anything wrong ?
