Hello Yamaha owners! I'm a beginner so take it easy on me   ;)

I have long love story with my Yamaha keyboard until I finally got one  ;D
I do miss a lot of details in order to understand my keyboard 100%. So recently I started to collect music that it has a good style and I started my project to cut good parts of the styles and then converted to REX2 files and midi files.

Using FL studio to change the midi channel from 1 to 10 so that the keyboard will be able to read it as a rhythm. Then using Midi2Style program to assign all the varations, intro, break and ending.

The problem is when I made my pack through YEM and install my pack on the keyboard I have to find my REX2 files and do it one by one  :'( .

The process taking really long to do that, Is there other methods to be able to do it directly with no hassle?

Q2/How to connect my Yamaha PSR to FL studio to use Yamaha sounds and style ?

Q3/Any methods to make a new style using FL studio and let it work the keyboard (But Not REX files)?

I have more question but I guess this is will be good for now to cover the most important things for me and other members.

Thank you!!

Joe H

You might try SF2 samples.  They are much easier to work with and will be just like your Preset Voices when installed.

By SF2 you mean the sounds of the keyboard that I created ? or you mean to convert the style to SF2? I'm a little bit confused to understand your answer  :D .

What I'm talking about are Sound Font 2 samples.  Do a search on the internet.  You will find some free ones to try.

Buy a copy of StyleMagic YA from midisoft. There are very few programs that have Voice Definition files for Yamaha arranger keyboards. It is so much easier when you can just select the correct Voice from the software (like StyleMagic YA) And there are many advantages other than the Voice file such as the Voice Editor and the Drum Editor, DSP support, sy*** support, etc.

It is also possible to add Voice files for custom expansion packs to StyleMagic YA with a new utility created by a forum member.
