NO, I don't like mine at all I think I'm going to sell it.............on April Fools Day.

Of course I say that in jest, I'm lovin my Genos too.  I had it out for another gig this week not only is the sound great but as a live performers arranger it's proving at least in my eyes to be the best of Yamaha arrangers.  I've said this many times the playlist feature is the "goose that laid the golden egg."   I choose a playlist usually about 35 to 40 songs for my 1 hour gigs with that limited number I don't have to scroll too far in the list to pick a tune to play during the hour.  What's great is I pick the tune load it and have the Genos pull up the corresponding lead sheet on the iPad or if I happen to use a midi file, I set the Genos screen to pull up lyrics.   As much as I love the Pa4x for live playing Yamaha has stepped up to the plate and has given we senior venue players some great tools.

I'm with you guys. Absolutely love this machine.

I am in Lowe with Genos. I hope my wife not reading this :)  :)

Absolutely the best arranger I ever had.

Yes Genos is the best keyboard I have ever had and I love it.

I join this group of Genos lovers because it certainly is a fabulous board.  The touchscreen adds so much as it easily lets one find what they want. The Menu is really surperb
and once you familiarize yourself with it the Genos becomes quite easy to use.  The learning curve takes a bit of time to get used to but when you do, it's simply the best
Yamaha board to date.  Lloye :D

Same here,
Every time I sit down and play it I am amazed by the sound it produces.
The styles, the voices, everything sounds so alive and inspiring.
I totally get lost in the music with this board.
It is almost as if the Universe answered my prayers.
I got everything I hoped for and more.
I am certainly a very happy camper. :) :) :)

I couldn't agree more with the positive feedbacks, that people have about this Genos. I have owned many keyboards, but this one is by far the very best. I am no professional, but playing this keyboard gives me many options, to sound so much better than I really am. There is no limit to adjusting the keyboard  to how I like to play and I enjoy what I hear so much more than any other keyboard. So, Yamaha Great Genos. Perfect??..No not in this world,
but I'm glad and blessed to have one to play, and enjoy so much.

I am still in love with my Genos too. I only have time to play 4 days a week for several hours each time.  I'm still finding styles I haven't checked out earlier. The keybed feels like it is custom made for me. I'm using all the original settings. My expression and control of the right hand voices just seems to come naturally. The way Yamaha has changed how the SA effects happen while just playing is wonderful. I seldom have to use the SA buttons anymore or tip toe with certain voices so I don't trigger something. I used to get some undesirable sounds from previous models.........probably more of a key response issue than SA.

Because I am loving the styles so much that's all I seem to do if play!!  I fell into a similar rut with Tyros 5. Outside of just playing it I never did much editing or new style creation as with previous keyboards. Before Genos was released I was curious about all the talk about Genos's synth engine. Some were comparing it with the Montage. If this is under the hood somewhere I haven't found it yet. Sound synthesis has always fascinated me. I play with several computer based programs to satisfy those needs!!

There is so much to explore. Every time I play Genos I look at the console of this beast. There are so many things I haven't tried yet and some of it is intimidating just because it is new.  I think a saw a post about some Genos online tutorials?  Has anyone found anything useful??  Until I make the commitment to learn some new stuff I'll just have to be content playing all these wonderful styles......................... -charley

One big bonus I found on Genos is the Playlist function.  It works very similar to Songbook on the PA4X I had.

The other plus to this is I now have two ways to list songs with Genos; playlist or using registrations.

I like that.   ;D

Hello Everyone

I will repeat that I am also very happy with My Genos too....
In Other topic, I want to play the Lionel Richy Hello, does any body has a song style that is suitable for that particular tune?
I appreciate it very much.

Any tips on where to get more styles for the Genos other than Yamaha musicsoft , for pop music like the latest songs e.g Despacito , Havana etc. I know it already has heaps of onboard stuff

EileenL

There are other companies that produce styles Midi Spot is one of them. Do a google search.
