Very disappointing that a feature I have suggested many times over is not there.  (Channels Manager - Import MIDI Loop)

Hi Joe.
As I said into Genos board, I didn't understand either your request, so I think Thomas did not understood your request, either.
So I think better way is to make a video where to show and describe exactly what is a midi loop and how you suggest implementing this feature in his software.

New IDL Editor version (2.0) is now on his page, and has new features than my old IDL 1.0 version. Now you can delete a pack, feature that was not implemented in first version, has an download pack button, which opens a web page from midisoft.pl where you can find 3 free packs for YEM.

Regards,
Vali

We have been able to load and save style sections
And that's been a good feature

I would have thought that by now the programme should be able to
export a 'style section' to Cubase for further editing and import back again.

Would have been a real update.

Oh I think he understands alright. He wrote a wonderful program.  He also knows that styles are nothing more than MIDI Loops.  And I did give him an explanation of why and how to implement it in detail. Years ago I also suggested he add a Multi Pad Editor to Style Magic or MidiWorks YA.  He did respond to that and asked questions... but I never saw him implement it.

BTW... I don't do videos.

I downloaded the idleditor v2. Thomas did implement an update that I suggested for this utility.  My suggestion was to import a Voice list and display as Panel Voices, rather than displayed as GM format with MSB-LSB because pack Voices do not follow the GM/XG format.  I gave it a try.  I now have 2 Voice Packs added to my S970   EDP Voice file.  One is listed as User Voices and one is listed as Panel***.

He asked for my help with an English translation (English Captions) for his Youtube Video. So I'm a bit disappointed that he did not implement my Import MIDI Loop suggestion.  It would make StyleMagic a very powerful program.  And would be better and easier than trying to build a style in a DAW like Cubase.

FYI... I uninstalled the User Packs in StyleMagic and re-installed them.  The idleditor v2 is a major improvement over the first version.  We can install any number of packs and name them.  They now display as Panel Voices listed just as they are displayed on the keyboard screen including drum kits (which have a MSB of 062)
