Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've done this:

How do I choose another voice (instrument) for a multipad right here on my arranger?

Kind regards,

Henni

From the PSR FAQ:  http://psrtutorial.com/lessons/faq/PSRFAQ.htm

D.19. How to change the multipad voice
Load your pad into the instrument. Then select Digital Recording/Multipad Creator.

Choose the pad you want to change, and then depress the Edit tab.

On the right hand side, depress filter then AllOn, then Exit. You should see the midi commands.

You will need to change the Bank MSB, Bank LSB and Program numbers to those of the new voice. You can get these numbers from the Instruments Data Manual under Voice List.

Do the other pads if desired, and then Save the edited pad to a new file name.

If you want to do this on the computer, use PadMaker-Midi (http://psrtutorial.com/MB/bedesem.html)

Tx Michael,

I was hoping that there was a easy way to just browse the new voice in like with a style. I want to change some of the Genos vocal voices to some I have in expansion packs - would be good to be able to listen to the result as I can do with the onboard style editor.

Regards,

Hi Michael,

You can update your FAQ. Added to what you've suggested above, just delete the current MSB entries. Next, select insert and browse in your new voice, even from the expansion packs. The correct MSB parameters will automatically be inserted for you.

Michael, my midi driver works - I play multipads direct from my PC on my arranger using your PadMakerMidi program. However, why does your external voices tab not update with any of my onboard expansion pack voices?

Kind regards,

Henni

Note: I've found my other post on this, posted many years ago. Mind boggling how soon one forgets these things. I am once again back on track with this after reading all of those. Michael, my question about the external voices still stands though. Please be so kind as to respond.

Dear Henni,

My solution to change the voices for midi and pads is very similar.
For pad: Choose the pad/multi pad editor/in tab record choose the pad/go to edit tab/push any button from the voice selection(doesn't matter) now you can go to your voice (including user)/ choose and/exit/you can delete the line of initial program/save with different name.
In this way you can have also 2 or more consecutive voices on the same multi-pad if you will insert on the desired measure a new program line, theoretically.

Good luck!
