Hello, Guys.

Last weekend was the first gig with the new Genos.
I play in a Pink Floyd cover band! It was amazing, mainly because the new "80's" sounds of Genos, which is very similar with Pink Floyd songs.
Take a look in some pictures!

Pedro from Brazil

Hi Pedro,
Congrats on your first gig  ;)
Looks great.
Question: Besides the already great 80's sounds in the Genos, have you come up with a great lead guitar sound?
I do "Shine on your crazy Diamond" and "Another Brick in the wall"
Have fun
Eric

Hello,

The band has two guitar men, one for solo and one for basis. So, I don't use Genos guitars in the Band.

But, the new 70 80's synths of Genos brought new life for "Shine on you Crazy Diamond". I will try to post some videos here... But they are big...

Regards,
Pedro

Congratulations, Pedro. Glad you are having fun with the Genos.

Hello Pedro,

When you play in a band do you use the ACMP or is the band your accompaniment?

Hello,

My band is usually the accompaniment. But, in some songs, like Shine on you Crazy Diamond, I use a free style (like ethereal movie, ethereal voices or something like that) to give more power on back strings.

Pedro

Gear question: are you playing your Genos through that nice Fender amp or is your amplification system out of the picture?
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

pedro_pedroc

Hello,

No, the Fender amp is the cube for the BASS only.
The amp systems for keyboard, electronic drum set and microphones were out of the picture, in that gig were two active pa (stereo) with return monitors. The two guitars had their own amp system (mono).

Pedro

Lee Batchelor

Okay, thanks Pedro. Good to hear you were out gigging with your new toy :).

I will try to upload some band videos (recorded with phone) to my YouTube Channel... I will post the link here, if I could do it.

I am big fun of Pink Floyd.I have 30+ cd's of them.,I would love to hear your band  :)

By the way is there a chance someone has got a style for "Learning to Fly"?
I wonder if this song will sound good played with a style.

Lee Batchelor

That would be great, Pedro. Thanks :)!

I wonder if anyone has a style for "Echoes".

I'm also a big fan from Pink Floyd  ;D

Hello, People.

I could upload one of our Pink Floyd band songs to my Youtube Channel - Shine on You Crazy Diamond (a classic of course). Check it out:

https://youtu.be/k1fFoFJcZUM

It was recorded with smartphone, so sound quality is not good, but you can have an ideia what Genos can do in the band - great for Pink Floyd songs.

Tarja Preta is the name of our band, a Pink Floyd Cover Band - Formation:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lead Vocal and Rhythm Guitar: Dante
Lead/Solo Guitar: Gustavo
Keyboard and Back Vocal: Pedro
Bass: Andre
Drums: Luthold

Recorded on 02/02/2019 - Campo Grande/MS - Brazil

I hope you enjoy!!!

Thanks for posting that, Pedro! You add a lot to the group :).

Hello,

I posted 3 more videos of the band... I will start a new topic with "Pink Floyd Cover Band with Genos" title.
I hope you enjoy.

Every year I go to Brit Floyd. Its one of the famoust PF cover bands and closer to the original we can't go anymore then with them.
So, As a Floyd fan from the early 70's (Arnold Layne) I must admit that the band is leaning on you. Shine on your crazy diamond is also close to the original.  I don't know how you achieve that sound, but it is a close you good go.
But my opinion.....the solo gitarist as the learn the song better.  It isn't not so close as you. David Gilmore  used in this number only bending strings in the beginning. Your man is playing single strings.......that doesn't sound very good.

Keep doing what you are doing, because it is really, really good.

Marc

pedro_pedroc

Dear marc1956.

Thank you for you comments. I stated another topic, where I put some new links of our Pink Floyd songs.

I got the sounds from Genos by listening and adjusting the Genos sounds and effects.
I try to play closer as Rick Wright was used to play, but in Pink Floyd there was a second keyboard, with John Carin (pulse tour, and many other tours).

Anyway, thanks for your comments, I will trying keep improve the play.

Hi Pedro,

It's great to see posts from people who are playing gigs with their Genos. I live in Campinas, Brazil. Where does your band play?

pedro_pedroc

Hello,

We live in Campo Grande/MS - Brazil.

Did you check other Band videos at my youtube channel?

marc1956

I listen to your youtube channel, and your playing is great.  Some remarks on the timing for the singer on Comfortly Numb, but it sounds really good.

Then the song Sirius......amazing work, and I'm convinced that once I would buy a Genos.

Marc

pedro_pedroc

Thank you very much Mark.

In confortably numb, the solo guitar started the vocal (because it was his birthday  :D ). Often, is just the lead singer or I in the beggining.

Thanks for watching - YES, Sirius is a great music - I will try the Eye in Sky in next days...

Regards,
Pedro
