Mic suitable for kids?

Hello all:  I don't sing (at least not yet) but wanted to buy a mic for the grandkids (ages 6-14) to use while I play at home.  I'm not familiar with mics and not sure if durability can be an issue.  I won't let them handle it roughly -i.e. no throwing or twirling like some of those aged rock stars, but there is always a chance that one of them might drop it on the floor (ok, I might do that too).

Also I'm wondering if excessive exhaled moisture from singing can be a concern for a mic.   Should I get some sort of foam or cloth cover?

Cost is not a big concern -- mainly, I don't want to feel a need to upgrade later if any of us amateurs decides to get more serious. After reading a few posts here I've been considering the Sennheiser e945 or e935.   Any comments, tips or suggestions? 

P.S. if it makes a difference, it will be plugged into my new Genos

For the price of the Sennheiser model you mentioned,  i would buy 2 or 3 Behringer XM8500

Which is not that expensive and acceptable vocal quality for kids.  If they drop it no biggy.

For singing myself I use the Shure SM58S directly plugged into Genos. 

You can buy mic covers on ebay.  i buy 20 or 30 at a time, very inexpensive and disposable.

I have several Samson R21 mics.  I use them for guest singers and have given some away to people who needed but couldn't afford a decent mics.
They are QUITE inexpensive, and have very similar specs to Shure SM58.  They do have a lot of low-end proximity effect, so may have to roll off the lows if you use them really close.  That wouldn't be a factor for a kid.
I've never had one fail, even after severe mistreatment!
You can find them for less than $20.!!!
I also have the Behringer (I traded something for it) and it is fine.  I prefer the Samson though.

Thanks Don!  I saw them online and will look a bit closer.  I haven't purchased a mic before and it's interesting that they are available in 3-packs. That might be a good option because sometimes there are a lot of grandkids around the house.

Wireless isn't cheap.

Wireless will probably be a little more fragile, and kids can carry them off and lose them!
